Peyton Manning, a 2-time super bowl winner, is considered one of the greatest American football quarterbacks of all time. Now retired, he has come to China in order to give advice to the American football youth leagues here, and help spread the word about American football.

Manning is the first football player to be featured on the sports drink Gatorade in the Chinese market, giving a wider audience to both the sport and Manning himself.

Manning is also supporting Gatorade China's "One Pass to Fame" program, where winners from five cities around China will go on to compete in a quarterback passing challenge to take place during halftime of a professional American football game schedule for this Sunday in London.

Peyton believes the sport has a place in the Chinese market. "There's potential. There's great fans with a passion for football over here, the idea is to get more of those over here. To get youth football growing, that's the best way to develop a potential player," says Manning.

It's true that the sport is catching on, as the American Football League of China (AFLC) already has 14 teams nationally with year on year growth with slow but steady progress.

Commissioner and CEO of the AFLC Christopher McLaurin says that China has some great talent to offer for this amazing sport. "China has a lot of talent here. "It's an amazing sport, it's about comradery, leadership, and teamwork and character."

Manning has said he will continue to help promote American football around the world during his retirement. "Once you learn the rules, and follow a game or follow a specific player, you'll really enjoy that experience," he says.
