A new puppet show using one puppet to control another puppet will be staged on October 1st and 2nd at the China Puppet Art Theatre.
Red Army's War Horse or Hong Jun De Zhan Ma (ºì¾üµÄÕ½Âí) in Chinese tells a story about a war horse that could accurately perceive its owner's emotions.
The puppet of a young soldier will exercise control over the war horse in this play.
Zhao Yongzhuang is the theatre company's general manager.
"This show marks a remarkable breakthrough in puppet performing techniques. Using a puppet to control another one indicates that a puppet artist would make full use of his ten fingers that should coordinate well. There is only one ten-second scene using this technique in the Red Army's War Horse. For this segment, our performers have spent more than half a year practicing."

Meanwhile, the China Puppet Art Theatre will also stage another new drama "Panda and Little Mole", adapted on the basis of a popular animated series jointly produced by the China Central Television and an animation producer from the Czech Republic.
Panda is China's national treasure while Little Mole has delighted fans in the Czech Republic for decades. Via this new children's drama, it is hoped that young Chinese audiences may better understand the culture and customs of both nations. |
