The award winners of the 33rd Hundred Flowers Awards were revealed on Saturday evening in Tangshan City, north China's Hebei Province.

The Hundred Flowers Awards are considered to be one of the most prestigious film awards here in China.

Xu Qing won the best actress accolade for her performance in the crime drama "Mr. Six", while Feng Shaofeng won the best actor for his role in "The Wolf Totem".

In addition, Chinese popular star Angelababy claimed the best supporting actress for her role in "Mojin-The Lost Legend", and Li Yifeng gained best supporting actor awards for the movie "Mr. Six".

Wu Ershan won the best director for the film "Mojin-The Lost Legend", while the best screenplay award went to "The Dead End".

The Hundred Flowers Awards were inaugurated by the China Film Association in 1962. A total of 101 public jury members who were selected from 26 million voters across China, cast their ballots late Friday to decide the prizes for the 10 shortlisted films.

The Chinese film market has witnessed a stepwise growth from 2010 to 2015. Last year, China produced 686 films which reached a total box office gross of 44 billion yuan (around 6.6 billion US dollars). In 2016, the country's box office has already exceeded 30 billion yuan (4.5 billion US dollars) as of early August.
