Hi there! My name is Danqing Yin. I am studying Education Policy at University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.

Education Policy has long been a strength at Penn GSE and has been ranked in the top 10 in the US since the mid-1990s by US News & World Report. We have a small-size cohort (around 30 students each year for master¡¯s degree) while each student has a faculty advisor to give instructions. It is also a flexible program that you can decide to finish it in one year or two years. Flexibility also lies in our course registration process and intern opportunities.

I am currently a TA in statistics class for doctoral students. I am grateful that I am learning from the best professors in education, working with amazing colleagues and having fun with wonderful friends.

Before coming to Penn, I got my bachelor¡¯s degree in international affairs from the George Washington University where I was passionate about policy and education. I also had two-year of fun experience working at a nonprofit organization in Maryland, United States and Peking University, China. I was the curator of 2015 TEDxPekingUniversity where I hosted an interesting TEDx Talk event for 100 students with 38 volunteers; we invited nine inspiring speakers in Beijing to share stories of their ¡°aha¡± moments. I was a group leader for 97 excellent Chinese delegates who I enjoyed spending my summer with at the Youth Assembly in United Nations in 2013. I taught disadvantaged students in rural area and moderated mentoring programs to HIV-positive teenagers of Anhui Province in 2009, which made me decide to be a responsible educator. My favorite motto is: ¡°Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire (from William Butler Yeats).¡±
