The first Chinese tomb-robbing fiction has recently embraced a movie adaptation.

The film "Time Raiders", which tells the story of explorers searching for the secrets of immortality in ancient tombs, is scheduled to hit theatres this coming Friday.

Fresh-meat actor Jing Boran plays Kylin Zhang in Time Raiders.

"I act in many action scenes that are very cool. (But it's easy task compared with the acting Ma Sichun did.) It's a difficult time in terms of acting for Ma Sichun since she is the only female grave robber."

Ma Sichun, a young actress noted for her portrayal in 2014 film Left Ear, which is Taiwan singer and actor Alec Su's directorial debut, co-stars with Jing Boran in the upcoming movie.

"Short hair suits my character very well in the film. Jing Boran said just now he felt astonished at the sight of his handsome look in the trailer, and it's also my first experience to get shocked at my handsome tomboy appearance too. I think my arduous work has all paid off."

Another young heartthrob Lu Han also acted in the film. Also the upcoming movie is his second collaboration with Veteran Chinese actor Wang Jingchun.

In 2015, the two both starred in Chinese suspense movie, the Witness.

Wang Jingchun recently attended a promotional activity for "Time Raiders" at the Beijing Workers' Gymnasium.

"I know there are a lot of fans for Time Raiders since the novel got published almost a decade ago. During our shooting process, netizens left notes on my Sina Weibo account, some voicing support for Time Raiders while others feeling distaste for it. But I believe as soon as they watch the film, it would attract a lot more fans."

Film director Daniel Lee and the fiction author Nan Pai San Shu have recently led their all-star cast taking part in the promotional activity, just a week ahead of the film's release.

However, young actor Lu Han, who plays the male protagonist, was absent at the event.
