New firmware upgrades are now being offered amid suggestions hackers have begun finding a way to use wireless mouse connections to attack computers.

Marc Newlin with cyber security firm Bastille says hackers have found a way to use the unencrypted signals from a wireless mouse to get into people's computers.

"They haven't encrypted the mouse traffic, that makes it possible for the attacker to send unencrypted traffic to the dongle pretending to be a keyboard and have it result as keystrokes on your computer. This would be the same as if the attacker was sitting at your computer typing on the computer."

Tech experts say the vulnerability of the wireless mouse allows hackers to take only seconds to access your computer.

At this point, Bluetooth wireless devices don't appear to be vulnerable to this type of attack.
