Examines birth, marriage and death in China

By tradition, a new mother stays in her bedroom for a month until the baby¡¯s one month birthday party.

Followed by the one hundred day party...

And one year birthday party, with firecrackers, red envelope money, food and wine ¨C uh, that¡¯s just for the adults.

Then comes marriage.

A lavish banquet, car parade, happy candy, food, wine, firecrackers, red envelopes and a lucky red dress.

After a happy life, black armbands and white flowers are worn and wreaths laid. Sacrificial money and objects are burned.

Mourning takes place again seven days after the funeral, then again on the forty-ninth day. And that's the cycle of life in China.
