Upcoming Chinese romantic comedy film 'Bride Wars' is scheduled to hit domestic theaters on August 20th.

The film directed by Tony Chan is a remake of Hollywood star Kate Hudson's 2009 hit film with the same title.

The romantic comedy portrays the conflicts between two young women who are best friends and pursuing the same dream of holding their wedding ceremonies in a luxury hotel.

The storyline develops as their wedding planner wrongly arranged the two weddings on the same day, which triggers a battle between the close friends as one of them has to change the wedding place.

Popular actresses Angelababy and Ni Ni star in the Chinese version.

Recently, many film remakes from Hollywood classics have been seen in the fast-rising Chinese film market.

Chinese director Xu Ang's legal drama '12 Citizens', which is inspired by the 1957 American drama '12 Angry Men', won the highest honor at the conclusion of the Rome Film Festival last December.
