The China National Fisheries Corp has confirmed that two of its Chinese staffers have been found alive after they jumped off a boat, which caught fire near Port Kamsar, a northern city of Guinea.

Liu Changtao, manager of the company's Guinea office.

"The two fishermen were found alive. They are still treated in hospital but in stable condition. The exact reason of the fire is still under investigation but it appears that it was caused by some technical problems."

The fire broke out on Saturday.

The other 19 people onboard have been rescued, including 8 Chinese and 11 Guineans.
