Vehicles on Auction

A Beijing Court is set to auction off 11 seized vehicles today.

4-thousand bidders have registered to try to secure the rights to the vehicles.

It's believed many of those who are bidding on the vehicles are hoping to secure the license plates, rather than the automobiles themselves, as its very difficult to secure a license plate, given the current lottery system.

Transport authorities in Beijing have announced that a one-card public transportation program is going to be launched, covering Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei next year.

Authorities are currently discussing whether to create a new card or use the existing card being used in Beijing.

Chinese authorities have announced an easing of the approval process for cybercaf¨¦s.

Current restrictions on the number of computers in one Internet caf¨¦ will be removed.

Size restrictions are also being loosened.

Straw Burning Survey

Authorities in Shanghai say they've seen 70 different incidents of straw-burning in the city over the past three weeks.

The burning of straw has been banned in Shanghai since October in an attempt to try to improve air quality in the city.

Tightened Migrant Regulations

The municipal government in the city of Guangzhou is requiring non-Guangzhou hukou holders to register within 3 working days upon their arrival in the city.

People visiting Guangzhou for tourism, business trips or medical reasons will be excluded from the registration system.

Financial Audit for Temples

Municipal authorities in Guangzhou have issued a new regulation for temples in the city.

Temples are being required to contract accounting firms to audit their financial records.

Those which don't could face fines of up to 50-thousand yuan.
