Sino-British Relations
   2014-06-20 12:39:28    CRIENGLISH.com      Web Editor: Fu Yu

Britain set up diplomatic relations on March 13, 1972, the first powerful western countries that established diplomatic relations with the People¡¯s Republic of China.

Because of the Cold War, First and Second Opium War, and the status of Hong Kong, and other issues, China-UK relations at some points in history have been complicated, but better at other times.

Today, however, China and Britain enjoy a friendly, cooperative, and close relationship. China and Britain have established a full strategic partnership and close cooperation.

Last December, British Prime Minister David Cameron arrived in Beijing for a three-day official visit to China.
