The Kenyan government says seven truck drivers taken hostage in Iraq have been freed.
The Kenyan government says seven truck drivers taken hostage in Iraq have been freed.
A Kenyan government spokesman said the freed hostages have been taken to the Egyptian Embassy in Baghdad.
He added that the three Kenyans in the group are in good health. He said he has no information on the condition of the other hostages who are from India and Egypt.
Word of the release follows intense negotiations between Iraqi mediators and the Kuwaiti company employing the drivers.
The kidnappers had demanded that the company stop working in Iraq -- or its drivers would be killed.
They were abducted 10 days ago.
