China will hold the 21st Congress of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing in Beijing in 2008.
China will hold the 21st Congress of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing in Beijing in 2008.

Photogrammetry is the use of photography in map making.

Beijing won the right to host the conference over Australia.

ISPRS was founded in 1910. It's a non-governmental organization devoted to the development of international cooperation in photogrammetry and remote sensing.

China became a member of the organization in 1980 and this is the first time it will host the four-yearly meeting.
