Art Curiosities Produced to Commemorate Deng Xiaoping

To mark the 100th birthday of Deng Xiaoping, a set of art curiosities consisting of a gold book, silver chopsticks, bronze mirror and a flat jade piece debuted.

To mark the 100th birthday of Deng Xiaoping, a set of art curiosities consisting of a gold book, silver chopsticks, bronze mirror and a flat jade piece debuted in Shanghai on Friday.

The curiosities are carved with inscriptions highlighting Deng Xiaoping's outstanding achievements and thoughts.

August 22nd this year marks the 100th birthday of the late Chinese leader, who launched China's reform and opening-up drive in the late 1970s.

Only 500 sets of the art curiosities will be produced.

Also on Friday, a golden sheet titled "Great man Deng Xiaoping" made its debut in Shanghai. Only 5,000 such golden sheets will be produced.

One of the sets of art curiosities will be housed in the Memorial Hall of Deng Xiaoping, located in his hometown Guang'an in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
