TV's biggest night is to be seen in the world's biggest country China this year.

CCTV's Movie Channel has signed on to broadcast the Primetime Emmy Awards.

TV Academy proxy-chief operating officer Todd Leavitt and CCTV-6 Vice-president Jia Qi announced the agreement at the 10th Shanghai Film Festival.

In the U.S., ABC will air the 56th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, broadcast live from Los Angeles on September 19.
