The Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in Hong Kong has announced plans to combine traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine for its in-patient services.
The Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, or TWGH, in Hong Kong has announced plans to combine traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine for its in-patient services.
Speaking at a press conference, the Chief Executive said that a pilot study will be carried out at Kwong Wah hospital this September and the scheme will be extended to other Tung Wah hospital if it runs smoothly.
TWGH has allocated HK$1 million or about 125 thousand US dollars to Chinese medicine research in 2004 to explore the possibilities of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicines.
The group plans to open its fourth Chinese medical research centre at Tung Wah Hospital this year.
