China-Africa Trade Prospects Look Promising

Close, high-level ties between China and African countries, and enthusiasm shown by Chinese firms, has improved the prospects for trade between the two sides.

Bilateral trade and economic co-operation has entered a new phase of all-round, rapid and stable growth since the China-Africa Forum was set up in 2000, according to an official from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. 

U.S. Accuses Iran of Escalating Nuclear Crisis

The United States is accusing Iran of seeking to escalate the nuclear crisis, and urged the United Nations Security Council to take actions against Iran.

The United States has been demanding that Iran give up its nuclear program, which, Washington claims, is a threat to regional security. Iran denies the charges, insisting its nuclear program is solely for energy purposes. 

EU Sets Ambitious Plan for E-Government

The European Commission says hundreds of billions of euros could be saved for European taxpayers every year as a result of administrative modernization in the 25-nation bloc.

According to the EU executive's eGovernment Action Plan, information and communication technology is the key to modernizing government services: making them more efficient and more responsive. 

China's Central Bank Warns of Risks in Housing Finance

China's central bank, the People's Bank of China, says the real estate industry is absorbing too much of the country's capital, causing government attention.

Housing prices have continued to soar, despite the government's year-long efforts to stabilize prices. This has sparked grave concern that a housing bubble might burst. 

Donnie Yen's "Dragon, Tiger Gate" to Debut in North America

"Dragon, Tiger Gate," a Hong Kong kung fu movie starring Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse, will be released in Chinese in Asia on July 28 and in North America next March.
