China Radio International Celebrates 70th Anniversary
China Radio International (CRI) held a high-profile ceremony in Beijing on Saturday, marking the 70th anniversary of its founding and the establishment of the Chinese people's overseas broadcasting cause.

China Radio International (CRI) is the only overseas broadcaster in the People's Republic of China. CRI was founded on December 3, 1941 and is owned and operated by the state.

In March of 1947, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to pull out of Yan'an. To ensure the continuous broadcasting of Shanbei Xinhua Broadcasting Station, which was located in the area, a backup station in Shahe Village of Shexian County in Hebei Province began operating on the night of March 29, 1947, inheriting the wavelength of the Yan'an station ...

• Overseas Radio Partnership Services
On July 14, 1993, CRI broadcast a one-hour English-language program in Washington, D.C., marking the opening of its first overseas studio. Now it broadcasts in 41 languages via more than 160 radio services in more than 30 countries.
• Overseas Confucius Classrooms
CRI established its first Confucius Classroom on December 6, 2007, offering Chinese teaching programs through radio and online broadcasts. Until now, it has a total of 12 Confucius Classrooms worldwide.
